Gearbox removal
The gearbox is removed to access the clutch. This step accounts for most of the labour.

Removal of old kit
The worn disc, pressure plate and release bearing are unbolted and removed.

Flywheel inspection
The flywheel is checked for warping, scoring or excessive wear. Resurfacing or replacement may be needed.

Fitting new kit
The new kit is fitted using a centring tool so the disc is correctly aligned. Incorrect fitting causes vibration and premature wear.

Gearbox refit
The gearbox is refitted, fixings torqued, pipes and cables reconnected.

Adjustment and test
Pedal free play is set. For hydraulic systems the circuit is bled. A road test checks clutch bite and absence of noise.
