Combien coute clutch (embrayage) ?

The clutch kit includes the clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing (or hydraulic release mechanism). These parts wear over time depending on driving style and use. When the clutch slips, becomes heavy or judders, replacing the full kit is essential to restore normal feel and avoid damaging the gearbox.

Comment l intervention se deroule ?

  1. 1

    Gearbox removal

The gearbox is removed to access the clutch. This step accounts for most of the labour.

  2. 2

    Removal of old kit

The worn disc, pressure plate and release bearing are unbolted and removed.

  3. 3

    Flywheel inspection

The flywheel is checked for warping, scoring or excessive wear. Resurfacing or replacement may be needed.

  4. 4

    Fitting new kit

The new kit is fitted using a centring tool so the disc is correctly aligned. Incorrect fitting causes vibration and premature wear.

  5. 5

    Gearbox refit

The gearbox is refitted, fixings torqued, pipes and cables reconnected.

  6. 6

    Adjustment and test

Pedal free play is set. For hydraulic systems the circuit is bled. A road test checks clutch bite and absence of noise.

Vos questions, nos reponses

How do I know if my clutch is worn?

Signs of a worn clutch include: slipping (engine revs rise but speed does not increase), difficulty changing gear, clutch pedal that slips or comes up very high, burning smell or grating noise when engaging the clutch.

Can I change just the disc without the full kit?

No, replacing the full kit (disc + plate + bearing) is always recommended. These parts wear together. Fitting only a new disc to a worn plate accelerates wear and means the gearbox has to come off again soon.

Should I run in the clutch after replacement?

Yes. For the first 500–1,000 km avoid high-rev starts, deliberate slipping and towing. A properly run-in clutch will last much longer.

Should the dual-mass flywheel (DMF) be changed at the same time?

The DMF is often checked when the gearbox is off. If it has excessive play or idle rattle, replacing it at the same time is advised to save on labour, which would be the same later.
